I created a water garden in a pot. My friend Jeff Kennedy gave me several plants. Jeff has a large Koi pond, and a number of water gardens in pots. He sells many of his plants on Ebay. I like the fish fountain. The sound of it is very relaxing. So far the feeder fish have lived thourgh on Raccoon attack. Posted by Picasa

  1. I think this looks very tranquil and artistic. I like the fish spouting water, too. I love the sound of a fountain or such, so I am impressed with the simplicity of your arrangement, with the full benefit of sight and sound. We'd be warned about standing water and West Nile Virus critters breeding. How do you/Jeff avoid that possibility...keeping water not stagnant? I've always wanted a pond...well, really a creek in the backyard. This could be a simple solution to the idea, and easier to maintain, perhaps. Thanks for showing us.

  2. Jeff buys mosquito fish and I bought feeder fish (they look like goldfish) to eat alge and eggs laid in the water. Having water movement also helps and keeps the water from becoming stagnant. In his large pond he has a filter and an ultraviolet light to kill the bateria.
