About Blog

To blog users: I am finding that almost none of you have made yourselves known on the "Contributors" section on the right side of the blog. In order for us to know you better, I think this would be a great way to do it.

To blog administrator: When looking for the word "comentary" at dictionary.com, it says, "No entry found for Comentary" and says below, "Did you mean Commentary?" And yet this "word" appears on the side of the blog. Another thing: I notice on google.com that the "Googe" thing on top of the page is changing a lot. Today for Independence Day, for instance, has a red, white, and blue Google icon with an eagle, but on the blog it is always the same. Is there any way to change that? Just curious.

  1. Thanks, Daniel, for pointing out the typo/misspelling of the word commentary in the sidebar. I have fixed that.

Yes, at google.com, they make a unique graphic for holidays--sometimes this is very interesting--as it is today, an eagle for Independence Day. They are doing that at google, and I have no way of changing the graphic on our blog. They would have to do that, and I think it would be a good idea.

When it comes to typos, especially those in other people’s posts, you need to be careful about gratuitously correcting other people’s blogs. Even though I could go in as the administrator and fix other people’s mistakes, I don’t. This might discourage other people from posting when they think about it. For fear of being corrected.

If you see something that you cannot understand, because of a typo or an improperly used word, you may want to use the comments section to ask them, politely about it.
