Trek ships 80 to 100 frames to Lance's team each year. It seems there are 3 basic frame designs. Each day's race seems to have its own needs for rims, gearing, etc. The bike must weigh at least the minimum required weight, so the mechanics have to add wieght back on the bike to keep from being disqualified. UCI says they will make random weight tests after the race. Anyone underweight will be elimintated. The mechanics think that random testing means, they test if your last name begins with A or if you ride for USPS. They were borrowing a scale from the hotel 30 days before the race started to weigh the bike.
