Yesterday I rode my bike to the
Crystal Lake campground, slightly above 5000' in altitude (and 40 miles from home), and there was still snow on the road, starting from a little above 4500'. I wasn't even a tad cold going up, but was (only) a tad cold in the ears coming down, which surprised me. I was excited to be able to make it to the snow in the mountains this winter before it all melted, but I appreciate the warmth of SoCal.
That's cool, Daniel (no pun intended -- really!). Good work. Now you are ready for winter at Moody Bible Institute! If God calls you there, of course! :-)
ReplyDeleteI checked out the link to Crystal Lake. It said the picture of the lake was after a winter of heavy rainfall. What does the lake look like now compared to the picture? I didn't know it was the only naturally formed lake in So. Cal until now, either. Thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteI haven't yet seen the lake, so I don't know what it looks like, but I hear that it is pretty green. The area is nice, and I saw a few deer there last year when I went.
