Volunteer

This lovely thing volunteered in our back yard. If you can't tell, it is at least 4 feet tall. I just noticed it this morning. Any idea what it's name is?

  1. Most likely a thistle, possibly a milk thistle. Do a search for "thistle variegated leaves" to see a picture. It is the Scottish national flower. You have an embroidered doily with a likeness stitched on it (I know because I gave it to you...).

  2. Yes I agree it is a thistle. They grow fast on the farms on Ohio and unless you want a lard full ofthem you probably need to take off the bloom. Yes I have a doily on my table with this bloom
