On the San Gabriel River, near the entrance to the National Forest, this new sign marks the bike trail. 37.5 miles south near where the river ends by dumping itself into the Pacific Ocean, this bird watches carefully while standing on one foot.
one time i saw a bird just like that, but with a freshly torn off stub of a leg, so it too, was standing (uncomfortably) on one leg. it was gross. i would also like to say, rather pessimistically, that the brand new sign will soon be very, very "tagged up," as many los angeles area children these days have not been taught not to draw on things that aren't theirs. word. but let's hope for the best.
I enjoyed the pictures. I am sitting here eating home made Chinese dumplings made by my house guest, Kathy. They are really tasty. I have really enjoyed this cross cultural experience.
